The year of 2023 marks a milestone in LOWA’s history. The shoemaker is celebrating its 100th anniversary. It is the perfect time to look back over the last 100 years and bring the company’s history to life.

Come tutto ebbe inizio C’erano una volta tre fratelli
Sembra il titolo di una favola, ma è una storia vera: più di 100 anni fa vivevano nel comune bavarese di Jetzendorf, sul fiume Ilm, Lorenz, Hans e Adolf Wagner. Tutti e tre avevano appreso il mestiere del calzolaio dal padre ed erano destinati a fare la storia delle scarpe da alpinismo: come i fondatori di LOWA, Hanwag e Hochland.

La generazione successiva Sepp e Berti Lederer
Quando l’ex apprendista Josef Lederer, detto Sepp, ritornò a LOWA, la buona sorte e la cattiva sorte viaggiavano in parallelo. L’azienda stava attraversando un periodo di difficoltà segnato anche dalla morte del capo e fondatore Lorenz Wagner. In questo periodo, Sepp si innamorò di Berta Wagner e la sposò. Insieme al fratello di Berta, Josef Wagner, riuscì a salvare l’azienda trasformandola in un marchio di successo e conosciuto a livello internazionale.

Nuove vie Tecnica acquista LOWA
Il 1992 e il 1993 segnarono un punto di svolta per LOWA. Josef Lederer vendette l’azienda al marchio italiano Tecnica e Werner Riethmann divenne il nuovo amministratore delegato e azionista di LOWA.
